  • Develop custom dataflows, datasets, visualizations, and reporting in business intelligence platforms that provide various teams with data to monitor key scholar metrics and evaluate outcomes; use data prep interfaces to join/append input datasets and create aggregated measures to produce output datasets for reports and dashboards.
  • Collect database business requirements from various SEO Scholars teams and, alongside IT, translate them into efficient and effective solutions that meet organizational needs.
  • Manage and support the integration of Salesforce with other data systems through collaboration with key Programs staff (e.g. Recruitment & Admissions, Operations), Curriculum & Instruction staff (e.g. Online Learning), etc.
  • Document data entry and management procedures to ensure data quality over time, and to support cross-functional collaboration and clear handoffs between teams.
  • Make recommendations to various teams on data practices for the student data-related technical systems they use (ex: Zengine, FormAssembly, Brightspace, survey software, Google products, etc.).
  • Identify opportunities, recommend, and execute strategies for streamlining existing databases and processes and using new data tools.
  • Conduct mass inserts and updates of key scholar data into Salesforce and other databases; train staff to conduct their own.

Program Evaluation & Capacity Building

  • Support R&E program evaluation efforts, including analyses, reports, presentations, and workshops that facilitate discussion of program monitoring and evaluation results and their implications; support staff in operationalizing learnings from such initiatives.
  • Periodically support the design and implementation of new methods for quantitative and qualitative data collection (surveys, focus groups, interview protocols, observation rubrics, etc.).
  • Create and facilitate training and other capacity building initiatives for staff on best practices around data entry, management, and reporting.
  • Serve as SEO’s representative in partnerships or information sharing relationships with peer and other organizations about data management, access, and reporting best practices.

Other projects and collaboration

  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration including standing meetings and other special projects.
  • Other seasonal/ad hoc projects, as assigned.

  • Advanced Excel skills and some experience with SQL queries required.
  • Familiarity with R or Python preferred.
