Support a wide range of activities related to the Center for Effective Global Action’s Global Networks portfolio enabling LMIC scholars in their use of cutting-edge research tools and methods, empowering them to address empirical questions of interest to them and their communities.


Project Management and Administration

  • Coordinate fellowships for African scholars at UC Berkeley—including logistics (booking travel and accommodations, arranging visas), and communications.
  • Support fellows by coordinating seminars, arranging meetings with faculty, assisting with logistics for campus visits, and arranging housing/activities.
  • Circulate requests for proposals (RFPs) for research projects and inclusion efforts, coordinate peer review, and issue award letters.
  • Manage research awarding process and ongoing research to ensure that funded projects carried out in LMICs are implemented effectively, efficiently, and ethically.
  • Work with CEGA’s Operations team to set up subaward contracts, monitor progress, coordinate payments/invoicing, work with teams to extend or amend contracts as needed, track disbursements, and collect grantee reports and budgets.
  • Coordinate with LMIC Partners (such as the Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration) to ensure operational excellence of programs.

Event Coordination and Communications

  • Provide logistical support for program-related conferences, trainings, seminars, and workshops (including the annual Africa Evidence Summit), working with the CEGA Events Associate and in-country partners as needed. This includes organizing planning meetings, arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, agendas, reimbursement requests, and likely traveling internationally.
  • Develop event content, recruiting and liaising with speakers and participants, scoping venues, organizing catering, booking travel, and coordinating day-of logistics.
  • Support the dissemination of funded research, including drafting content for the CEGA website, blog posts, newsletters, and social media.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Support program monitoring and evaluation for Global Networks programs, including collecting data on key performance indicators and contributing to quarterly performance reviews.
  • Ensure that CEGA’s Salesforce database is current and captures/informs program implementation.
  • Participate in some data collection, analysis, and dissemination efforts for CIDR, and the new Mastercard Foundation Scholars program evaluation, and other initiatives.

Center-wide and Professional Development

  • Participate in CEGA-wide activities, including internal working groups, performance management processes, and ongoing process documentation.
  • Proactively engage in professional development opportunities according to your areas of interest and alignment with programmatic goals.


  • BA in Development Studies, Economics, Global Health, Public Policy, Political Science, International Affairs, Public Health or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years experience working for a non-profit or academic research institution, experience with project implementation and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to scientific, evidence-led international development policy and capacity strengthening in LMICs.
