About the Event:
Data holds the power to solve our most pressing global challenges — including the need for systemic financial inclusion — but realizing this potential requires a new workforce of purpose-driven data talent.
Building this capacity will require a committed network of interconnected leaders. On Friday, November 22, 2024, data.org, Mastercard, and The Asian Institute for Digital Finance (AIDF), and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) will convene domain leaders across academia, industry, government, and NGOs to discuss innovative approaches and strategic opportunities for collaboration to meet this shared goal.
At this convening, data.org is delighted to formally launch the Asia Pacific (APAC) Data Capacity Accelerator as part of the Capacity Accelerator Network. Created with the generous support of the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, the APAC Accelerator will catalyze the application of data to address systemic financial inclusion challenges — including the critical need to build the data for social impact workforce. In partnership with The Asian Institute for Digital Finance, and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, this accelerator will produce a cohort of data practitioners and a training model to scale across the region.
