Sara Defibaugh is the former Communications Manager for data.org. In this role, Sara provides strategic social media marketing, events management, and communications guidance and support for data.org and partner organizations in data science for social impact.
Sara has provided strategic marketing and communications consulting in a variety of fields, including higher education, animal advocacy, healthcare, and parking innovation. She comes to data.org from an integrated marketing and communications agency, where she served as a Marketing Senior Account Executive. Previously, she worked for the nonprofit Austin Pets Alive! as their Digital Marketing Senior Specialist.
Sara holds bachelor’s degrees in Strategic Communications and Creative Writing and a Master’s degree in Organizational Communication from Ohio University. She spends her free time snuggling her dog, Holly Beth, reading crime-thrillers, and hiking Texas’ hill country.
