Srinivas Krishnaswamy is an economist with over two decades of experience in clean energy, climate policy, and sustainable development. He founded Vasudha Foundation in 2010 to advance practical, research-driven solutions that support India’s transition to a cleaner and more climate-resilient future. Under his visionary leadership, Vasudha has grown into a leading non-profit think tank working closely with governments and public institutions across India. The organisation has partnered with several state governments – including Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh – to support climate action planning at state, district, and gram panchayat levels.
With a forward-looking and solution-oriented approach, Srinivas has guided work across greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, renewable energy scaling strategies, electric mobility planning, climate data platforms, and structured monitoring systems that help governments identify priorities and track progress. This includes the development of national and state-level energy and climate dashboards, support for electric vehicle policy implementation, district-level climate planning, and action plans for Climate Smart Gram Panchayats in vulnerable regions.
Srinivas was part of the group that helped establish the Indian Renewable Energy Federation (IREF), a multi-stakeholder platform promoting renewable energy solutions across India, and currently serves on its Governing Council.
