At the Connecticut Data Collaborative (CTData), we work to build an ecosystem of data users in Connecticut to promote informed decision-making. We are seeking a Data Capacity Team Manager to supervise our learning and data capacity-building services. Our services include: Data Strategic Planning©, our social enterprise, and CTData Academy, our data capacity-building program. Someone who will excel in this role will be entrepreneurial, organized, able to manage people, enjoy coaching and training clients, and enjoy building and expanding programs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of data trainers and coaches.
  • Support team coordination for efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration across the organization.
  • Support coordination of training, coaching, and community education events.
  • Develop contingency plans for in-person events.
  • Provide administrative oversight of CTData Strategic Planning and CTData Academy, including client and project management, and planning for growth and evaluation.
  • Provide capacity-building coaching sessions for participating organizations and provide follow-up technical assistance as needed.
  • Support team members to make improvements to programming as needed.
  • Support business development efforts, including work with a team on grant applications and project proposals, outreach to potential clients, and fostering current client relationships.
  • Help deliver revenue targets based on the business plan’s financial projections.

Skillset

  • Demonstrated experience managing a team and working with external partners
  • Technical expertise in areas of data capacity building, knowledge management, evaluation capacity building, or monitoring and evaluation in the nonprofit sector.
  • Experience in supporting data and information management in organizations with constrained resources
  • Experience supporting staff to develop skills outside of their comfort zone
  • Experience in community education, teaching, training, or coaching.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to manage client relationships.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity.
  • Strong analytical mind and ability to hold the big ideas while focusing on the details.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of using data for decision making, supporting a learning culture, and promoting data capacity internally and externally.
