Carlos Perafán is Vice President for Latin America at Accion, where he leads the Advisory practice and the regional office, working with financial institutions, funders, and ecosystem partners to advance financial inclusion across the region.
With more than 20 years of experience across financial services and international development, Carlos focuses on digital transformation, innovation, and data‑informed decision‑making to help institutions expand access to inclusive financial products and services. His work spans partnerships with multilaterals, foundations, and private sector actors to design and implement scalable solutions in emerging markets.
Based in Bogotá, Carlos brings a practitioner’s perspective on how data, technology, and emerging tools—including AI—can be responsibly applied to strengthen institutions, improve livelihoods, and drive inclusive growth in Latin America.
He holds a degree in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University and a Master’s in Microfinance and Financial Inclusion from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
