Kamolpun Punpuing, Ph.D., is the Section Head of the People Development Strategy and Organization Development Division at the Thailand National Electronics and Computer Technology Center. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Administration, along with two master’s degrees—one in Social Work Studies and another in Information Technology- and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science (Public Administration – Personnel Management). Her multidisciplinary background in social science and technology enriches her approach to her work. She is keen on a qualitative research approach and a participatory learning process.
Kamolpun Punpuing’s primary interests include ICT for development, assistive technology, employment and work opportunities for individuals with disabilities and older persons. She has been appointed as a representative for Thailand’s expert team in the ISO/TC 314 Ageing Society Working Group, focusing on the ageing workforce. Her insights into the employment of older persons within the context of Asia contribute valuable perspectives on low- and middle-income economies.
Since 2023, Kamolpun Punpuing has been actively engaged as a member of the working group responsible for implementing Thailand’s National AI Strategy and Action Plan (2022-2027). She is a key member of the secretariat team for the sub-committee on AI Workforce Development, which falls under Strategy III. She is also a core team member in the formation of Center of Excellence for AI in Education, and the adoption of AI in the Ministry of Higher Education. Dr. Punpuing oversees project coordination for AI workforce development across all educational levels, including primary and secondary schools, vocational and higher education, as well as lifelong learning and professional training.
