Darmae M. Tan is an educator and technology solutions practitioner from Cebu, Philippines. She is the Founder and Operations Head of MYT SoftDev Solutions, Inc., where she works with organizations in developing practical technology solutions suited to their needs. When she started MYT, she wanted to help demonstrate that Filipino teams can build software and technology solutions that can stand alongside those developed anywhere in the world.
She is also a lecturer at the University of the Philippines Cebu, teaching software engineering, information systems, project management, and database management. Through both her industry and academic work, she enjoys helping people understand how technology can be used not just to improve processes, but also to address real-world needs.
At the heart of her work is a belief that technology is most meaningful when it has a purpose beyond simply being innovative. She is interested in how technology and data can be made useful and meaningful, and how they can be used to help people, organizations, and communities solve problems and create positive change.
