There is no question, the era of AI is here. But not everyone is ready to benefit. How do we ensure that this powerful technology is used to drive meaningful social impact and improve livelihoods across the world?
Join data.org and Caribou Digital for an engaging session on building the purpose-driven data and AI workforce. Together, we’ll explore how to design AI training that reflects local realities, builds agency, and drives equitable opportunity across the ecosystem: developing new talent, reskilling and upskilling workers whose jobs are changing, strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and equipping governments, nonprofits, and other intermediaries to lead responsibly in an AI-driven world.
This session will draw on data.org’s experience building data and AI capacity for individuals and social impact organizations and Caribou’s insights from the frontlines of livelihoods and workforce research. Speakers will address key tensions and opportunities in this fast-changing world—competition for AI talent, the necessity (or not) of formal training, the urgency to keep at pace with advancing technology, and the stakes of compromising responsible use. Audience members will be invited to participate in polling, live Q&A, and weigh in on the path forward.
