Aboubacar Diallo is a technical advisor with over a decade of experience in digital health, data science, and ICT for development. He has dedicated his career to using technology to improve healthcare systems, focusing on underserved communities and climate-resilient health solutions.

In his current role as a CAN Data Science Research Fellow with the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (Data4SDGs) initiative, Aboubacar is leading efforts to enhance healthcare accessibility in rural Guinea. His work involves mapping healthcare facilities, analyzing the impact of climate change on health systems, and developing strategies to mitigate these challenges through data-driven approaches.

Throughout his career, Aboubacar has worked with humanitarian organizations such as WB (World Bank), GFF (Global Financing Facility), GIZ, UNFPA, Millennium Promise Inc, and the Ministries of Health in several African countries, including Guinea, DRC, Madagascar, and Niger. Among his notable accomplishments are designing a regional e-learning platform for pandemic prevention in West Africa, implementing open-source healthcare solutions, and developing predictive models to support decision-making in health policy and resource allocation.

Aboubacar holds Master’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence for Public Health, ICT for Development, and Applied Mathematics. His technical expertise includes geospatial analysis, machine learning, and the global goods for health tools like DHIS2, CommCare, RapidPro SMS, OpenEMR, and Geographic Information System (QGIS, ArcGIS). He has also played a key role in projects such as mapping community health workers during the Ebola crisis and creating dashboards for tracking EVD contacts and health expenditures and resources mapping during COVID-19 responses.
