Amrita Kapoor is the CEO of Swadhaar FinAccess and leads the organization with a “tech + touch” phygital strategy across its 200+ RBI Centres for Financial Literacy—an integral part of India’s National Strategy for Financial Inclusion. With 25+ years of experience in industry and academia, she brings expertise in strategy, training, innovation, and women’s empowerment. She manages partnerships with the RBI, Gates Foundation, HSBC, and other networks while steering Swadhaar’s strategy, research, and knowledge initiatives.
Under her leadership, Swadhaar grew rapidly and expanded from 20 to 154 RBI CFLs in 2021 and to 211 today. During the pandemic, she launched an innovative online B2B training model for NGOs, enabling them to embed financial literacy in their communities. She led Swadhaar’s digital transformation with a human-centric approach and a strong gender lens.
Her thought leadership has been widely recognized. Amrita was invited by the RBI in 2023 to present Best Practices, received the G100 Global Golden Award for her commitment to excellence in 2024, and was featured in the Global F5 Collective Publication for her impactful leadership for positive change. She also serves as an Advisor in the Financial Literacy Committee of the Ministry of Labour and Employment. She is also a member of the World Bank–CGAP “Task Force”, contributing to the design of a national-level strategy to ensure financial services work meaningfully for women.
Most recently, under her leadership in November 2025, Swadhaar was awarded the prestigious Elaben Memorial Award for advancing women’s empowerment from SaDhan.
