Bailah Molleh is a seasoned mixed-methods researcher with over a decade of experience leading and supporting impactful research initiatives across health systems, governance, youth, gender, and human rights in Sierra Leone. With a specialization in qualitative research, he brings a robust background in designing, managing, and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative studies that inform evidence-based policy and drive sustainable development outcomes.
Currently serving as the Research Manager at Sustainable Health Systems Sierra Leone, Bailah has led and contributed to a range of high-impact studies, including an investigation into equity-lens-driven decision-making during the COVID-19 response and a randomized control trial examining whether proactive case finding improves care-seeking behavior. His work spans supervising field teams, managing data systems, engaging diverse stakeholders, and ensuring ethical, high-quality research implementation, particularly in hard-to-reach and underserved communities.
Baila is proficient in a suite of analytical and data visualization tools, including NVivo, Atlas.ti, R, STATA, Power BI, and ArcGIS. He has conducted interviews and led fieldwork across multiple districts, combining analytical rigor with a deep commitment to community engagement and policy relevance.
Baila holds an MSc in Research and Public Policy and a BSc (Hons) in Peace and Conflict Studies from Fourah Bay College. His academic and professional journey is driven by a passion for advancing health equity, promoting social justice, and translating research into actionable change. He continues to collaborate closely with government institutions, civil society, and international partners to bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice.
