Bree McEwan is an Associate Professor in the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information, and Technology at the University Toronto – Mississauaga, the UTM Associate Director of the Data Sciences Institute and holds an affiliation with the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society. Her research focuses on the way that people use technology to create meaning and build interpersonal relationships. Related concerns involve the collection and preservation of social media data. She is a co-organizer of the Post-API conference which explores transparency, need, and access as it relates to social media data.
McEwan holds a faculty appointment in the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information and Technology (ICCIT) at the University of Toronto Mississauga and is the UTM Associate Director of the Data Sciences Institute (DSI) of the University of Toronto.
