Diego is a lawyer with a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Los Andes, with more than a decade of professional experience in different public and private entities, mainly in the education sector. He has worked in the Ministry of Education, in ICFES and in ICBF, among other entities, contributing to the regulation of the sector and the formulation and analysis of public policies on the quality of education.
Diego has published academic works and researched anti-corruption issues in Colombia, improving the quality of the education system, and public policies focused on the education of migrant populations. He has been a volunteer teacher in public schools for several years and a professor at the University of the Andes.
Twelve years ago, he founded the Help Foundation to reduce dropout rates in post-secondary education, strengthen environmental awareness, and promote community work. For the past two years, he has been the Undersecretary of Interinstitutional Integration of the District Education Secretariat and now the Acting Director of Atenea, District Agency for Higher Education, Science and Technology.
