Ekapol Chuangwanich serves as the Deputy Director of Chula.AI, Chulalongkorn University’s AI Institute, where his responsibilities span critical areas including AI governance, education, and research. With a passion for teaching, Ekapol has been teaching at the Department of Computer Engineering since 2017, designing and delivering numerous AI-focused courses. He is particularly renowned for his extensive work in making AI knowledge accessible, offering popular MOOCs and maintaining a YouTube channel that stands as a premier source for AI education in Thailand.
Ekapol brings a robust academic background to his work, having completed his undergraduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University and earning his Ph.D. from MIT in 2016. His research at Chulalongkorn University is twofold: leading the spoken language systems group for Thai speech and NLP, and pioneering AI applications to enhance education, such as intelligent auto-grading and AI tutors.
