Ekapol Chuangwanich serves as the Deputy Director of Chula.AI, Chulalongkorn University’s AI Institute, where his responsibilities span critical areas including AI governance, education, and research. With a passion for teaching, Ekapol has been teaching at the Department of Computer Engineering since 2017, designing and delivering numerous AI-focused courses. He is particularly renowned for his extensive work in making AI knowledge accessible, offering popular MOOCs and maintaining a YouTube channel that stands as a premier source for AI education in Thailand.

Ekapol brings a robust academic background to his work, having completed his undergraduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University and earning his Ph.D. from MIT in 2016. His research at Chulalongkorn University is twofold: leading the spoken language systems group for Thai speech and NLP, and pioneering AI applications to enhance education, such as intelligent auto-grading and AI tutors. Crucially for this panel, Ekapol is a driving force behind youth AI development in Thailand, having played significant roles in impactful programs like AI Builders and Super AI Engineer, directly contributing to nurturing the next generation of AI professionals.
