Kamayikrese Eric Noël is a Public Health professional with over a decade of experience spanning Medical Laboratory Sciences, Field Epidemiology, Community Health, and Health Systems Strengthening. He holds a Master of Science in Field Epidemiology from the University of Rwanda and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Mount Kenya University.
Eric has made significant contributions to disease prevention, outbreak investigation, and healthcare service improvement. He has mentored and facilitated trainees across various Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) tiers, strengthening the capacity of health professionals and supporting early detection of public health threats. As a Master Trainer in Community Health, he trained healthcare providers across 28 districts, enhancing service delivery at the grassroots level.
Currently, Eric serves as a part-time mentor and facilitator with AFENET, specializing in data triangulation, event-based surveillance (EBS), and FETP mentorship, helping to strengthen public health data systems and guide emerging professionals.
His dual expertise in laboratory science and field epidemiology allows Eric to effectively bridge clinical and public health systems. He has led numerous research studies on tuberculosis, stillbirths, HIV self-testing, and COVID-19, with findings published in peer-reviewed journals. Proficient in analytical and data management tools, including SPSS, R, Epi Info, KoboToolbox, RedCap, Dedoose, and Stata, he leverages data-driven approaches to inform public health strategies and improve health outcomes.
Fluent in English, French, and Kinyarwanda, Eric is dedicated to advancing healthcare quality, building resilient health systems, and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
