Bahasa Ibu

Marisa Paramita is Co-Founder and CEO of Ibu Punya Mimpi (“A Mother’s Dream”), a community-led platform that has supported over 90,000 Indonesian mothers in digital literacy and economic participation. A serial entrepreneur and growth strategist with 20 years of experience across three continents, she previously led Uber’s expansion across 34 cities in Indonesia and Myanmar, and co-founded Olive Gives, a fintech donation platform presented at Money20/20 Las Vegas.

Marisa is the principal investigator of Bahasa Ibu (baibu.id), a UNICEF FemTech-supported initiative building community-governed AI data infrastructure with rural Indonesian mothers. Through Rumah Data Ibu and community data hubs, Bahasa Ibu trains and fairly compensates mothers as data producers in Bahasa Indonesia, Javanese, and Sundanese, including family-finance data that makes rural women visible to financial systems for the first time. Her research on this model has been accepted for a 2026 special issue of The Journal of Community Informatics on rural community informatics and AI.

Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, her work intersects inclusive AI, financial inclusion, and women’s economic empowerment in the Global South.
