Olayinka David-West is a Professor of Information Systems at Lagos Business School with almost three decades of experience in the IT and financial services industry and is a passionate advocate for digital transformation and inclusive finance. Her research and practice engagements involve policy and strategic management interventions toward digitally transformed businesses and society.

Professor David-West is Associate Dean at the Lagos Business School and sits on the school’s Management Board. From 2006 to 2015, she was the Academic Director of the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of the Pan-Atlantic University. The EDC provides capacity building programmes and a variety of support services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria such as advisory, mentoring, experts-in-residence, network meetings, and access to market and information. Since 2015, she has led the Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Financial Services (SIDFS) initiative, a research and advocacy initiative dedicated to enhancing financial inclusion in Nigeria. Under her leadership, the initiative has become the leading capacity building platform for operators and regulators within the financial service ecosystem.

Additionally, she mentors young women in STEM, and was featured in the Tech Women of Lagos exhibition, listed among the Leading Women in Nigeria’s Financial Technology Industry and profiled on FintechTimes as a leading financial inclusion in Africa expert.

Olayinka has expert certifications in financial inclusion policy and digital money, is a governing council member of the Fintech Association of Nigeria, and is a member of the African Women in Finance and Payments. She is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), and an academic advocate for the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). She is also a qualified practitioner of the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA).

Professor David-West holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Manchester Business School, and an MSc in Business Systems Analysis and Design from City University, London.
