Priyank Hirani is Vice President of Programs at data.org, where he leads global initiatives that expand the responsible use of data and AI to address society’s most pressing challenges. In this role, he advances data.org’s organizational strategy and cultivates strategic partnerships that accelerate the adoption, diffusion, and impact of AI for communities worldwide.

Priyank has played a central role in developing and scaling data.org’s approach to workforce development, institutional capacity building, and ecosystem acceleration. He helped establish the organization’s flagship Capacity Accelerator Network (CAN), a global network of hubs across Asia-Pacific, Africa, India, Latin America, and the United States working to cultivate one million purpose-driven data professionals by 2032. Through this work, he stewards multi-stakeholder initiatives with mission-aligned organizations to build sustainable talent pipelines and strengthen the global data-for-good ecosystem.

Based in the Global Majority, Priyank is passionate about democratizing access to opportunity and enabling locally driven data and AI innovation across domains, including climate, energy, health, and financial inclusion.
Priyank serves on the Board of Trustees of VigyanShaala, a nonprofit empowering the next generation of innovators through science and technology. Earlier in his career, he contributed to data and technology initiatives at The Rockefeller Foundation, The University of Chicago, the World Bank, and University College London’s Mullard Space Science Laboratory. He is a gold medalist from Imperial College London and an alumnus of BITS Pilani and Ashoka University.
