Subhashini (Shuba) Chandran has spent 25 years advancing inclusive growth, with a focus on small businesses, women-led enterprises in global value chains, sustainable livelihoods, job creation, and multi-stakeholder partnerships. She serves as Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa at the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, where she leads the Center’s regional strategy across programs, data and insights, strategic engagement, and partnerships.

She is a Yale World Fellow, a Chevening Gurukul Fellow, and an alumna of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders program.

Before joining Mastercard, Shuba led social impact at Yara International across Africa and Asia. She built the company’s social impact function and developed its first five-year strategy. She also directed Vikaasa, a coalition of global companies formed to accelerate India’s progress on the Sustainable Development Goals. Earlier in her career, she advised the UK Aid Rural Access Programme in Nepal and AgDevCo in Sub-Saharan Africa. She also helped scale her family’s tea business into one of India’s largest, employing more than 7,000 women.

She has taught at XLRI Jamshedpur and studied at the London School of Economics, City University, Oxford, Harvard, and Stanford.
