As the current Director of NITDA IT Hub (NITHUB) at the prestigious University of Lagos, he has created a thriving technology ecosystem that brings together academia, industries, entrepreneurs, start-ups, and investors. In his previous role as the Director of the Centre for Information Technology and Systems (CITS) at the University of Lagos, he spearheaded digital transformation initiatives that optimized operational efficiency and drove innovation across the institution. By revamping the e-infrastructure, expanding e-services, and architecting innovative solutions, he ensured seamless business continuity and positioned the university as a leader in the ICT space.

Dr. Odumuyiwa obtained his Ph.D. degree from Lorraine University in France and he is a faculty in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Lagos. He was an Empowering The Teacher (ETT) Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2013. He is a Principal Investigator for the IDRC-funded EduAIHub project focusing on enhancing Education in Africa through AI research. He is a member of the Africa Europe Cluster of Research Excellence on AI (CoRE-AI). He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Data Science Nigeria and a member of the UNDP Nigeria Reference Group on AI. He is a member of the IDEAMAPs Data Ecosystem Advisory Board. He is an IBM-certified security intelligence analyst, application security analyst, and IOT cloud developer. He was the immediate past chairman of the Association of Massachusetts Institute of Technology Trained African University Lecturers (AMTAUL) and was the former president of the West African chapter of the International Society for Knowledge Organisation (ISKO-WA). He currently leads the Machine Intelligence Research Group (MIRG) at the University of Lagos and develops responsible Artificial Intelligence for Natural Language Processing with applications in sentiment analysis, public health, recommender systems, log mining, cyber security, and education. He has over 45 publications to his credit.
