Prof. Rajiv Kumar Chaturvedi is currently an Associate Head of the School for Interdisciplinary Research and Entrepreneurship (SIRE) at BITS, Pilani’s, Goa campus. Dr. Chaturvedi specialises in Climate Change related issues. He has contributed to more than fifty peer reviewed journal articles and three books in this area.
He is currently involved with India’s national greenhouse gas inventory programme and is listed as an UNFCCC expert on GHG inventory. He obtained his PhD from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Ecology from the Centre for Ecological Sciences, and a masters in Geography from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University.
Dr. Chaturvedi has worked extensively with communities, Government officials, NGOs, and UN organizations. He has been a lead author for the regional assessment reports of the UNEP (United Nations’ Environment Programme) and IPBES (Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services).
