Play a critical role in shaping and sharing Mastercard enterprise AI and data narrative with key audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management for AI & Data Activities: Be a strong partner with the lead for AI & Data Communications and the broader Services Communications team to implement comprehensive communication plans to promote AI and data initiatives across the organization. This includes support for speaking engagements, media opportunities, briefing books, and internal communications. Connect the dots across key business and communications functions.
  • Media Relations Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement proactive media relations strategies in partnership with the Media Center of Excellence to drive positive visibility and shape the AI & Data Mastercard narrative across global and regional markets.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Partner with internal stakeholders (executives, marketing, product teams, learning & development, and business and regional PR teams) to align messaging and ensure consistency across all business communications.
  • Support the Business: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and product managers, to gather insights and create compelling narratives to support Mastercard’s larger narrative & storytelling opportunities.
  • Writing & Narrative: Craft and deliver high-quality content, such as articles, blog posts, presentations, and social media posts, that highlight the benefits and applications of AI and data technologies.
  • Media Monitoring: Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to stay informed about the latest developments in AI and data, and incorporate relevant insights into communication strategies.

Skillset

  • 2+ years of experience in media relations, public relations, or corporate communications, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful media relationships and strategies. Agency experience preferred.
  • Strong writing and storytelling abilities, with experience in creating high-quality, impactful content for diverse audiences across different platforms (press releases, articles, blogs, social media, etc.).
  • Established relationships with key journalists, bloggers, and influencers in the media landscape, particularly within finance, tech, and business sectors.
  • Ability to think strategically, craft compelling narratives, and align media efforts with broader organizational goals and priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage sensitive issues and respond quickly to fast-changing situations.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented with the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
