Mamadou Makhtar Mbacké

Mamadou Makhtar Mbacké is a teacher-researcher, with the rank of Full Professor in Public Health in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the Cheikh Anta DIOP University of Dakar (UCAD) of Senegal. He is a doctor of medicine and a specialist in public health. He holds a master’s degree in public health with a focus on epidemiology and a doctorate in public health from the Institute of Health and Development (ISED). He is a trainer in the monitoring and evaluation of health interventions. He also completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Public Health, Epidemiology and Development (ISPED) in Bordeaux. He participates in the delivery of courses in monitoring and evaluation of interventions as part of the Master’s degree in Public Health and in the supervision of trainees for the writing of their end-of-training dissertations. He is a trainer in field epidemiology for executives of the Ministry of Health and Social Action (MSAS) levels (intermediate and frontline). He is a member of the Polio Expert Committee at the MSAS. His skills have also allowed him to carry out several epidemiological research projects in the field of reproductive health, COVID-19, gender-based violence, and research on universal health coverage. He provides technical assistance to priority programmes, including programmes to combat tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health in the context of the evaluation of health interventions and the development of plans to resolve health problems.
