Be a part of the AI and Data for Good team and collaborate with policymakers, researchers, and nonprofit organizations to leverage open-source models and data.

Responsibilities

  • Support Meta’s regional teams in the Asia Pacific, Africa, and Middle East to strengthen partnerships with government agencies and research institutions on open source AI.
  • This role will also support the formation of new partnerships on artificial intelligence leveraging Meta’s open source models including Llama, Segment Anything, and DINOv2, focusing specifically on high value partnerships in APAC and AMET.
  • This role will also support additional AI-focused regional priorities in APAC and AMET, including supporting independent research on the economic and workforce impacts of open source AI in anticipation of large scale multilateral meetings.
  • Deliver trainings on AI and Data for Good tools.
  • In order to widen the impact of Meta’s open source AI tooling and Data for Good’s product suite, our team hosts training for government agencies on AI models and datasets to facilitate their access. The program manager will learn Meta’s AI and data tooling in order to lead trainings with government agencies, as well as partner with our crisis response partner networks to host in-person workshops on novel data and AI with counterparts across the United States.
  • Support reliable insight generation and partner management during large scale natural disasters.
  • Our team generates crisis dataset collections for over 100 large scale disasters a year, and in order to ensure that these insights are reliably generated, this Program Manager must help to kick off dataset generation in our internal tooling, as well as liaise with our on-call engineers to fix bugs when pipelines break.
  • As insights for large scale disasters come online, the AI for Good program manager must also liaise with partners and Meta’s regional policy teams in various countries to ensure that our datasets help inform the response. To assist with this process, the Program Manager should engage in proactive outreach to our partner community during times of crises, as well as to Meta’s internal networks to ensure maximum impact.
  • Document and track impact on social issues through case study development and organizing of lightning talks.
  • AI for Good partners are constantly conducting new research, publishing articles or making critical decisions based on our datasets and tools. As Program Manager, you will be in contact with many of these partners and will have the opportunity to identify impactful case studies for our team and work with the partner to document, write, and present about this meaningful work.
  • Track Data for Good’s impact by maintaining a series of trackers on how partners are using our tools as well as how frequently our tools are mentioned in the press. As a Program Manager on the team, this role will help support various tracking tools to ensure the team has visibility into our impact both from a research, social, and awareness perspective globally.
  • Onboard new AI & Data for Good partners to controlled access datasets. In addition to our publicly available datasets, AI for Good offers protected datasets, which require a series of internal and external approvals in order for a partnership to be formalized and for a partner to gain access.
  • As a Program Manager, you will assist in the approval workflow for protected datasets including monitoring data requests from the AI for Good inbox, routing internal approvals in various Meta systems, as well as liaising with legal teams at Meta and at partner institutions to finalize data sharing agreements. You will also help onboard new partners to secure systems and tooling that allow them to access the datasets and help keep our partner records up to date.

Skillset

  • Minimum five years of professional experience. BA required, MA preferred.
  • Preferred focus on AI, public policy or another relevant discipline.
  • Project management experience and technical acumen required, as well as the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
