Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU)
The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is a network of leading universities linking the Americas, Asia, and Australasia. APRU was established in Los Angeles in 1997 by the presidents of UCLA, Berkeley, Caltech, and the University of Southern California (USC). It now has a membership of the presidents of 60 leading research research universities from around the Pacific Rim. This includes 200,000 academic staff and two million students.
APRU leverages collective education and research capabilities of its members into the international public policy process. Primary research areas include natural hazards & disaster risk reduction, women in leadership, population aging, global health, sustainable cities, artificial intelligence & the future of work, the Pacific Ocean, and labor mobility.
