Ka’Pri Burden is an Engineer at MISO Energy. In addition to her full-time role, she serves as a Project Manager at the Mississippi AI Collaborative, with her work focus being the Mississippi AI Agency, a project focused on using generative AI to empower small businesses and nonprofits across Mississippi.
Originally from Greenwood, MS, Ka’Pri graduated from Jackson State University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, where she developed an interest in technology, problem-solving, and creating equitable opportunities.
It’s through her work with the AI Agency that she can channel her passion for both community growth and bridging the digital divide. Through this initiative, Ka’Pri helps equip students and clients with skills in generative AI to explore how AI can streamline operations, amplify branding, and spark new opportunities. Ka’Pri is passionate about the future of Mississippi, especially in how innovation can be used to support small businesses, nonprofits, and underrepresented communities.
Outside of work, Ka’Pri enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her loved ones. She sees lifelong learning as a core part of both her personal and professional journey, and tackles each opportunity as a chance to grow, contribute, and help others do the same.
