Dr. Christopher Lennard is an environmental scientist for the Climate System Analysis Group at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. As a zoologist, he was interested in the historical causes of historic avian extinction and how these have changed over time concerning the current most threatened species. Christopher Lennard’s Ph.D. research tested the ability of a regional climate model (MM5) to capture extreme rainfall events over Cape Town, South Africa. He holds undergraduate degrees in Zoology and Oceanography, and postgraduate degrees in Ocean and Atmospheric Science (B.Sc. Hons), Zoology (M.Sc.), and Climatology (Ph.D.).
