Olasimbo Sojinrin is the Chief Executive Officer of Solar Sister, leading the organization’s mission to empower last-mile communities with clean energy access through a network of women entrepreneurs. In her role, she oversees operations across Nigeria, Tanzania, and Kenya, supporting local teams in delivering sustainable energy solutions while driving economic opportunity.

With over a decade of experience in clean energy and women’s economic empowerment, Olasimbo brings deep field expertise, strategic insight, and an unwavering commitment to inclusive development. She joined Solar Sister in 2013 as the founding Country Director for Nigeria, where she built the country program from the ground up, expanding operations to over 30 states. She later served as Chief Operating Officer before becoming CEO in 2025.

Under her leadership, Solar Sister has strengthened its focus on climate resilience and productive use of energy (PUE), enabling women entrepreneurs to grow clean energy businesses that power livelihoods in health, agriculture, and small-scale enterprise. Olasimbo is passionate about building locally led solutions, investing in grassroots leadership, and amplifying the voices of women at the forefront of climate action.

She is a recognized advocate for gender equity in the energy transition and has spoken at global forums including the Skoll World Forum, Sustainable Energy for All, and COP side events. A systems thinker and adaptive leader, Olasimbo holds a strong belief in the power of proximate leadership to deliver lasting impact for communities often left behind.
