data.org at SDG7 Pavilion During COP26

November 6, 2021 6:30am ET / 10:30am BST

data.org is pleased to be presenting at the SDG7 Pavilion at COP26 powered by SEforALL in partnership with The Rockefeller Foundation and IKEA Foundation.

We’ve long had a vision for using data to improve energy access and efficiency – but that vision often falls short of reality. At data.org, we’re working with our partners to reimagine how data is collected and used, how algorithms are built and consider the cultural context to ensure data-driven solutions hit the mark. We’re honored to collaborate with GPSDD, which brings a global network of partners putting the power of data behind the SDGs. At this event, we’ll share perspectives on platforms and partnerships we’ve both found essential for progress. We’ll dive into the work of two data.org Challenge awardees using data to improve energy access and efficiency:

  • BASE is creating a mobile application to enable smallholder farmers in India to access sustainable cooling facilities for their perishable foods, and data-informed market intelligence.
  • Solar Sister works with women entrepreneurs in Nigeria and Tanzania, providing them with solar-powered products and data insights to bring clean energy to close to 2 million people.

We’ll also discuss the groundbreaking work of GPSDD affiliates and partners, modernizing energy data access in the UK and deploying renewable energy in Small Island States. Join us as we explore data-driven approaches to attain the SDG 7 goal.
