In data.org’s 2023 report, Accelerate Aspirations, they advocate for increased cross-sector collaboration in order to move the needle on the globe’s most pressing social challenges, such as financial inclusion and climate change. But the question remains: How might we accelerate the adoption of data and tools in financial inclusion for better, faster insights to advance climate initiatives in lower-middle-income countries (LMICs)?
These advances are only possible through shared incentives that benefit everyone involved in the data value chain—from the private companies that hold actionable data to the social impact organizations leveraging data and the local farmers impacted by extreme weather caused by the climate crisis.
In their panel, Seeking Shared Incentives: Cultivating Cross-Sector Data Collaboration to Combat the Climate Crisis, data.org brings together key perspectives to identify what shared incentives in fact exist, how to identify opportunities for greater alignment, and how we can ensure ethical data practices and equitable incentives.
This is a virtual session from Financial Inclusion Week 2023.
