Dr. Claire Melamed is the United Nations Foundation’s Vice President, AI and Digital Cooperation Strategy, leading its work on the multilateral governance of new technologies to promote equity and sustainability — and working closely with the UN, technology companies, civil society, and academia.

Until September 2025, Claire was the CEO of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data, a network of 800 partners from governments, private sector, and civil society with a shared commitment to harness and leverage data and data technology toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. She was previously a Managing Director of ODI Global in London, and in 2014, she worked in the office of the UN Secretary-General, writing the report of the Independent Expert Advisory Group on the Data Revolution, “A World That Counts.” Claire is an Affiliated Researcher at the Bennett Institute for Public Policy at the University of Cambridge and serves on the Boards of Our World in Data and Full Fact. She has a PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
