Jake Porway loves seeing the good values in bad data. As a frustrated corporate data scientist, Porway co-founded DataKind, a nonprofit that harnesses the power of Data Science and AI in the service of humanity by providing pro bono data science services to mission-driven organizations. In his decade there he experienced the trials and tribulations for non-profits, governments, and even corporations in using data and algorithms well. He was previously a Fellow at data.org, and built upon his work here to advise nonprofits, philanthropies, and governments on how to use AI for social impact.
