In November 2023, data.org and Microsoft, with support from EY, announced five global awardees of the Generative AI Skills Challenge:
- Global Integrated Education Volunteers Association (GIEVA)
- Mississippi AI Collaborative
- The Tipping Point
- Data Elevates
- Myna Mahila Foundation
These organizations embarked on ambitious projects to train and upskill social sector workers in generative AI, focusing on driving socioeconomic mobility. Their initiatives emphasized community-led implementation to accelerate digital inclusion and skill development for workers in historically marginalized populations. Over the past nine months, the awardees have created AI platforms and tools, developed comprehensive training materials and prompts, and trained thousands of generative AI practitioners across Latin America, North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Join data.org for a webinar on Wednesday, September 4, to meet the awardees and explore their innovative and impactful approaches to generative AI skilling. During this discussion, the awardees will share insights from training educators, community health workers, and entrepreneurs. They will discuss their unique approaches to leading with localism and effectively working with communities. Don’t miss this virtual event to discover what’s possible and what’s next in the field of data and AI for social impact.
